DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER - GRADE 52/54 (OPEN)

WORK DESCRIPTION:

  1. Reporting to the General Manager, the Deputy General Manager assists the General manager to plan, develop, implement and oversee Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) initiatives and projects;
  2. Lead and oversees technical divisions such as Funicular Operation Division, Project Planning & Development Division and Special Projects Division;
  3. Manage overall operation when General Manager is not on-site;
  4. Responsible for managing and implementing strategic projects and managing day to day business of PHC;
  5. Be part of the leadership team to enable PHC achieve its goals, by developing new business and driving growth, promoting business profitability and developing a high performing team;
  6. A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies;
  7. Demonstrate ability to build strong relationship with all stakeholders, and develop teams;
  8. Involve in hiring and evaluating PHC employees; and
  9. Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of PHC.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Malaysian Citizen, 45 years old and above;
  2. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor degree in Engineering or technical field, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Computer or any other related engineering discipline. MBA holders or any other advanced qualification in relevant engineering field would be an advantage;
  3. Minimum 20 years of relevant experience with 10 years in senior management level positions;
  4. Strong analytical and project management skills, including strong ability to analyze and understand data and possible issues arise; familiar in handling contracts or project agreements;
  5. Must have strong negotiation and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both verbal and written); ability to communicate to local and international vendors / business partners is vital; additional language skills would be added advantage;
  6. Motivated, disciplined and self-driven individual with a strong commitment to integrity, professionalism, quality of execution, teamwork with good presentation skills and strong people management skills;
  7. Confident, dynamic personality and willingness to take challenges; be prepared to work outdoor / on-site;
  8. Must be flexible and occasionally to work on weekends and public holidays.
